Este problema no es un hecho aislado. Situaciones similares están afligiendo a artistas en muchos lugares, tal vez debido a los tiempos económicos difíciles por los cuales atraviesa el mundo entero. Algunos artistas mediocres se valen de artimañas para sobrevivir.
This problem is not an isolated occurrence. Similar situations are afflicting artists in many places, perhaps due to hard economic times around the world. Some mediocre artists resort to trickery in order to survive.
Sin embargo, a pesar de los tiempos difíciles, todavía debemos recordar que el arte sin proyección social es arte estéril, la cual no lleva a cabo ningún propósito importante.
However, despite hard times, we still must remember that art without social projection is sterile art, which doesn’t carry out any important purpose.
El Cabildo Histórico de Córdoba —donde Metamorfosis se iba a llevar a cabo—, es un edificio como cualquier otro al no llegar a contar con los dos elementos para su porte de reliquia, de manera que se proyectara en lo social: su dimensión aurática —su parte arquitectónica e histórica— la cual adquiere significado especial en sus ciudadanos (cuya dimensión ya tiene), y el sentido filosófico y artístico de las exhibiciones en sus entrañas, el cual abarca responsabilidad de conducta y que, desgraciadamete, no se dio.
The historic Cabildo of Córdoba where Metamorphosis was to take place, is a building like any other, because it was deprived of identity-giving elements for its stately site, allowing it to project in the social realm: Its auratic dimension—its architectonic and historic sides bringing special meaning to its citizens—which it has, and the philosophical and artistic sense of the exhibits within, which requires responsibility in conduct and which, unfortunately, didn’t happen.
No hubo Metamorfosis en el Cabildo, como tampoco logró su substituta mediocre proyectarse con el mismo porte de excelencia. La ventaja de esta situación es que los mentados artistas permanecerán en su propia burbuja y nada más: ¡no transcendieron!
Degollar para abrirse paso en el camino es una manera peligrosa de hacer las cosas, pues tu cuchillo invariablemente se convierte en daga de dos filos.
There wasn’t Metamorphosis at the Cabildo, and neither was its mediocre substitute able to project within the same frame of excellence. The advantage of this situation is that these so-called artists will remain in their own bubble, and nothing more: They didn’t transcend!
Cutting throats along the way is a dangerous way to do things, because invariably your knife turns into a double-edge sword.
